THE WHY

1/3
"stay where you are. find your own Calcutta. find the sick, the suffering, and the lonely right there where you are"

Mother Theresa

To make peace in the lives of the poor, the displaced, the abused and the neglected is to come face to face with some of the world's biggest and most complex problems: problems that demand to be met with big solutions.

Those in the non-profit sector trying to make peace have big ideas but are often asked to implement with sparce resources, little help and even less recognition.

That's the bad news. The good news is that we believe the big solutions already reside in the hearts and work of those trying to make peace in our all to violent world. The challenge before us, and the one pax Humana was formed to take on, is to feed these big ideas with the right kind of resource, support and expertise so that big ideas can grow in to the big answers we all hope for.

pax Humana was formed to identify, nurture and refine big ideas for making peace.

The business world understands the need to feed entrepreneurial vision with venture capital and the right expertise so that world changing business ideas can grow into big business success stories.

Often, social justice entrpreneurs are not given the same freedom or opportunity. We believe we can change that. In the same way that venture capital firms seek to invest money and expertise to reap profits from great unrealized business ideas, pax Humana identifies and partners with the work and vision of great peace makers for the benefit of all of us.

pax Humana is a venture justice organization.

pax humana is the venture justice project of the Alder Foundation.
